Laurie Weeks has worked as a journalist, marketing writer, and college-level writing instructor. Five years ago, she also began volunteering as a tutor for the Oakland Literacy Council. The experience was so rewarding that she decided to turn her passion into her profession. Last year, she became the Tutor Coordinator for the Oakland Literacy Council, where she happily trains, coordinates, and supports volunteers who help low-literate adults discover their hidden potential.
